宣德皇帝朱瞻基是明朝第五位皇帝，史稱“太平天子”。在平定了漢王高煦之叛后，宣德帝全力發(fā)展社會經(jīng)濟(jì)，支持藝術(shù)發(fā)展，使社會在經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展的同時，藝術(shù)創(chuàng)造有了一個長足的進(jìn)步。最具代表性的，就是我們十分熟悉的的青花瓷。
宣德青花，萬歷朝便已成為待價而沽的好貨，明末更被視作珍寶，至今收藏界仍認(rèn)為宣德青花是明代青花之首，陶瓷界也有“青花首推宣德”之說。

蒜頭瓶是起源于西漢時期的一種瓶體式樣。瓷制蒜頭瓶則流行于明清時代，以景德鎮(zhèn)窯制品為多見。而此件還有清代雙聯(lián)瓶的雛形。而所謂雙聯(lián)瓶，就是一種流行于清代的兩只瓶子連為一體的瓷器造型。清代的雙聯(lián)瓶多為自瓶口開始直至底部通體相連，而更早期的被稱為雙貫瓶，只是瓶腹粘連在一起。
此件宣德雙貫蒜頭瓶，長頸，滾圓腹，底部為圈足。兩部分瓶體只有腹部相連，在瓶頸部分，別出心裁的用堆塑的手法塑造了一個二龍戲珠造型，兩條神龍攀附在瓶頸之上，將兩個瓶頸捆綁在了一起。瓶身整體施青花釉，繪神龍騰云紋飾。釉面肥厚滋潤，光澤柔和不刺眼，白中泛青，這就是俗稱的“亮青釉”。其胎體厚重，胎質(zhì)細(xì)膩，這就是宣德青花瓷的標(biāo)志性特點(diǎn)。
