清代咸豐重寶
咸豐鑄幣,名目繁多、版式復雜,為中國歷代鑄幣之最。“咸豐三年,軍旅數起,餉需支絀,東南道路梗阻,滇銅不至,刑部尚書周祖培、大理寺卿恒春、御史蔡紹洛等先后條陳錢法,請改鑄大錢,以充度支。”在這種情況之下咸豐大錢終于應運而生。 當時幣值規定當五十及以下計值稱為“咸豐重寶”,高于當五十計值稱為“咸豐元寶 ”,以區別于小平錢“ 咸豐通寶”。清朝政府開鑄的大錢有當十、二十、三十、四十、五十等。

咸豐三年(1853年)五月,咸豐帝令戶部落實鑄大錢,先鑄當十錢一種。此幣是圓形方孔銅質錢幣,為難得一見的珍品古錢。正面鑄有楷書“咸豐重寶”四字,從上而下而右而左直讀。錢背上下寫有漢文“當十”二字標明幣值,左右用滿文寫有錢局的名稱。錢幣文字體深峻,結構端莊規整,鑄造精美絕倫,其文字點劃撇捺分明,線條有粗有細,粗若含雷霆萬鈞之力,細則如蛟龍游絲相連,從錢文中透露出一股抑揚頓挫的剛毅之勁,令人嘆為觀止。
