【藏品簡介】：唐卡也叫唐嘎，唐喀，系藏文，指畫在紙上或者布上，經過彩緞織物裝裱之后的宗教卷軸畫。早年間，因藏民過著游牧生活，居無定所，僅靠固定的寺廟，無法滿足眾多遷徙不定的信徒的宗教生活需求。于是畫在唐卡上的佛像，作為移動的宗教圣物，代替了寺廟中的塑像和墻上的壁畫，成為藏民們可以隨身攜帶、祭拜的崇拜物。藏民們只要將裹成一卷的唐卡鋪展開來，系掛在帳篷里祈禱、禮拜，就能有一種精神寄托。

因為作畫時間長再加上畫唐卡的很多的顏料都是礦物顏料含有一些毒素，很多畫師在50歲左右的時候身體和視力就不是太好了，所以一名優秀的畫師一生當中其實畫不了幾副唐卡。當然唐卡也不是一位只有繪畫功底的畫師隨隨便便就能畫出來的，而是有一定要求的，這個要求不單單是對繪畫技巧的熟練，更重要的是畫師本人對藏傳佛學的深刻理解，以及對每一副圣象的敬畏之心。

畫師依靠幾十年如一日的唐卡繪畫功底在運用細致入微完成傳神的開臉，所以對于畫師來說，一副唐卡就是一場修行，再加上畫師在做畫的時候所用的顏料傳統上都是采用金銀、珍珠、瑪瑙、珊瑚、松石、孔雀石、朱砂等珍貴的礦物寶石，還有藏紅花，雄黃、藍靛等植物原料，所以這些天然的顏料就保證了唐卡的色澤的鮮艷璀璨奪目。
