【藏品簡介】：民國時期軍閥混戰，在中華民國剛成立之時，民間使用的錢幣并不統一，那時候銀幣、銅幣、票都在混亂使用。而對于袁世凱，大家并不陌生，袁世凱就任大總統后為鞏固政局、發展經濟、決定統一貨幣制度。民國三年（1914年）二月，北洋政府頒布《國幣條例》規定：以一圓為無限法償的本位貸幣。原先的各個官局所鑄造發行的1元銀元，由民國政府兌換并改鑄，在一點的時期內，承認它們的價值等同于國幣1元的價值。根據這一規定，于1914年12月及1915年2月， 先后由造幣總廠及江南造幣廠開鑄1元幣，幣面鐫刻袁世凱頭像，俗稱"袁頭幣"或"袁大頭"。
