【藏品簡介】：清代的江南省前身是明朝的南直隸江南省，范圍大致相當于今天的江蘇省、上海市和安徽省。康熙六年(1667年)清廷撤江南省，分設江蘇和安徽兩個省。南京造幣廠將其鑄造的銀幣標明“江南省造”，是因為當時蘇州已經有一個專鑄機制銅元的造幣廠，其鑄造的銅元均標明“江蘇省造”。為避免混淆，南京造幣廠將其鑄造的銀幣標明“江南省造”。系我國貨幣史上有名無實的省份銀幣。所以目前存世量非常稀少。
[collection introduction]: Jiangnan Province in the Qing Dynasty was formerly nanzhili Jiangnan Province in the Ming Dynasty, which is roughly equivalent to today's Jiangsu Province, Shanghai city and Anhui Province. In the sixth year of Kangxi (1667), the Qing government withdrew Jiangnan province and divided it into Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. The Nanjing Mint marked its silver coins as "made in Jiangnan province" because there was already a mint in Suzhou at that time, and its copper coins were marked as "made in Jiangsu Province". In order to avoid confusion, the Nanjing Mint marked its silver coins as "made in Jiangnan province". It is a nominal provincial silver coin in China's monetary history. Therefore, it is very rare at present.
光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。由湖北兩廣總督張之洞率先引進英國鑄幣機器鑄造銀元和銅元，之后各省紛紛仿效。共有十九個省局鑄造，除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元，皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。“江南省造”銀元于光緒二十三年(1897年)開鑄，因它是江南廠首次鑄造的銀元，錢幣收藏界稱其為“老江南”或“江南老龍”。
Guangxu Yuanbao was one of the currency in circulation during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. Zhang Zhidong, governor of Hubei and Guangdong provinces, took the lead in introducing British coining machines to mint silver and copper dollars. Later, all provinces followed suit. A total of 19 provincial bureaus cast copper coins. Except for the central household department, the provincial names were engraved on the upper edge of the obverse. The silver dollar "made in Jiangnan province" was cast in the 23rd year of Guangxu (1897). Because it was the first silver dollar cast by Jiangnan factory, the coin collection circle called it "old Jiangnan" or "old dragon in Jiangnan".
江南省造光緒元寶的版面設計優雅，特別是背面的蟠龍圖騰，神龍雕刻得呼之欲出，惟妙惟肖，吐出的火焰仿佛還熾熱著。而且它存世量極為稀少，是收藏界精品，知名度極大的一種，具有無法估量的學術與歷史價值。此枚江南省造光緒元寶銀幣正面中央珠圈內鐫滿漢文“光緒元寶”四字，圈外上端鐫“江南省造”，下端鐫幣值“庫平七分二厘”。錢背中心為蟠龍圖案。周圍環繞英文介紹，左右各鐫一個六點花星。錢幣筆劃紋飾滾圓深竣，龍鱗珍珠紋粒粒無虛無粘，邊齒標準地章平整，包漿老氣，年代感強烈，有著濃厚的大清宮廷幣風格。

The silver coin of Guangxu Yuanbao made in Jiangnan province is engraved with the Chinese word "Guangxu Yuanbao" in the central bead circle on the front, the upper end of the circle is engraved with "made in Jiangnan province", and the lower end is engraved with the value of "Kuping 7:2". The center of the coin back is a coiled dragon pattern. Surrounded by English introduction, a six point flower star is engraved on the left and right. The strokes and ornaments of coins are round and deep, the dragon scale pearl grain is empty and sticky, the side teeth are standard, the seal is flat, the pulp is old-fashioned, and the sense of age is strong. It has a strong style of palace coins in the Qing Dynasty.
