[introduction to the collection]: Sichuan copper coin military government evolved from Sichuan copper coin. The earliest copper coin was coined in the 28th year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1902). Cen Chunxuan, governor of Sichuan, began to discuss the casting of copper coins. In June of the 29th year of Guangxu's reign (1903), Sichuan Tongyuan Bureau was established. Its scale was small, and it was only used to repair the waste machines originally purchased and cast small coins. The plant was the copper pressing plant and the old copper coin plant of the machinery bureau, and the casting materials were the waste shell slag of the machinery bureau and the remaining copper of Baochuan Bureau. "Dang five" and "Dang ten" copper coins were cast according to the proportion of copper 96%, lead 0.1% and others. After the revolution of 1911, the military government of the Han Dynasty in Sichuan abolished the bronze coin pattern of the Qing Dynasty with dragon pattern in the first year of the Republic of China and instead minted Sichuan copper coins. The military government made three denominations of "Dang 10", "20" and "Dang 50". On the front, there was "Sichuan copper coin", in the middle, there was a Begonia flower and "made by the military government", below, there were several characters of Dang money making, on the reverse, there was a circle in the middle and seal characters in the circle The word "Han" is also surrounded by 18 small circles with the words "the first year of the Republic of China" on the small circle. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the word "Dang 100" was added, and the pattern of Dang 50 is the same as that of Dang 50.
In the third year of the Republic of China, the military government made Sichuan copper coins. There are four words "Sichuan copper coins" in the central bead circle on the front of the copper coins, which are divided up, down, left and right, and the heart is decorated with hibiscus patterns. The words "made by the military government" are written on the upper edge of the bead circle, and the words "when making money, one hundred words" are written on the lower edge, indicating the currency value, and the left and right are decorated with flower star patterns. There is a seal character "Han" in the central circle on the back of the copper coin, and there are dozens of horizontal and straight lines on the bottom of the word "Han", so coin collectors also call it "Han" copper coin. There are 18 small circles around the "Han" circle, representing the 18 provinces at that time. The 18 small circles are connected around the word "Han", which means that the people of the 18 provinces unite to fight for "expelling tartar prisoners and restoring China". It bears the distinctive era mark of the revolution of 1911 and witnessed the magnificent history of the Republic of China!
