此軍政府造四川銅幣，大小規范，銅質細膩，成色均勻。該幣正面中央珠圈內而上而下而右而左鐫刻著“四川銅幣”四字，字體清秀端正，其中心紋有芙蓉花紋，小巧玲瓏，十分漂亮。珠圈上緣紋有“軍政府造”四字，下緣為“當制錢五十文”字樣，左右飾以花星紋飾。銅幣背面上環雕刻“中華民國元年”字樣，中央大圓圈內為一篆書“漢”字，因而錢幣收藏者也稱之為“漢”字銅元。層次分明，雕刻工藝高超。圈外環繞有十八個小圓圈，代表當時的十八個省份，十八個圓圈圍繞“漢”，寓意十八省人民團結起來共同戰斗，“驅逐韃 虜，恢復中華”。此幣設計別具一格，制作精美，正反面相錯15度角度，獨特的寓意更是賦予了錢幣不一樣的歷史紀念意義，頗具欣賞和收藏價值。

軍政府造四川銅幣是辛亥革命時期的產物。1911年12月發生“成都叛亂”，以尹昌衡、羅綸為正副都督的四川軍政府取代了建設僅12天的大漢四川軍政府。新的四川軍政府，建設之初即面臨著需用日繁、度支日絀的財政困窘時勢。軍政府迅速接管了四川成都造幣廠，決議鑄造“四川銅幣”以應急。民國元年（1912年）4月，四川成都造幣廠奉四川軍政府之命，開模鑄造“軍政府造四川銅幣”，軍政府造四川銅幣應運而生。
