開元豪，四尺斗方
1945年生于博山，1958年經考試進入博山美術琉璃廠內畫組跟張文堂、薛京萬老藝人學習內畫。1975年調干就學，畢業于浙江美術學院。
1961年改革百年相傳的內畫竹畫筆為內畫狼毫筆, 為中國內畫發展作出了巨大貢獻。1971年首創《水滸一百單八將》特細內畫畫面, 在廣交會引起轟動。

在浙美求學期間深得吳弗之、陸抑非、王伯敏等先生的賞識。國畫作品多次獲省市優秀創作獎。所創作的《和諧歸》、《醉梅林》獲首屆世界華人藝術展佳作獎和第六界世界華人藝術大展國際優秀獎。曾與他人合作舉辦八人書畫展、黃山寫生展和個人中國畫作品展。1991年赴日舉辦個人藝術作品展。
作品與業績曾被《中國藝術界名人錄》、《中國工藝美術名人藝術大辭典》、《中華翰墨名家作品博覽》、《世界華人藝術精品典藏》、《中國書畫藝術作品集》、《中國當代書畫家翰墨精品集》、《走近當代大師》等收錄。
人民日報出版社曾編輯出版個人國畫集。2004和2005年所創作的內畫作品《蘭亭契吟圖》和《賞花大觀園》禪聯第五屆、第六屆中國工藝美術大師作品及工藝美術精品博覽會金獎。內畫作品《想望》被中國國家博物館收藏，成為建國以來館藏內畫第一人。2007和2008年第八屆、第九屆中國工藝美術大師作品及中國工藝美術精品博覽會評委、第六屆中國工藝美術大師評委。
畫家的最高境界是什么？當然就是著名畫家王孝誠的師法自然的修養境界。他畫松柳成趣雅，畫山水制奇韻，一支畫筆構骨而立質，沒骨成精彩，在長年的丹青藝術修煉進程中，王孝誠已經得自然之涵養，達到了筆墨心通，一氣呵成精彩的丹青水準。王孝誠的丹青視野非常廣泛，于自然之境隨擷一物，皆可入畫框而成定格精品。其中又極善畫多枝植物和肥葉塘荷，也極善文人山水構繪。他用堅實的工藝美術功底，合成自己豐富的寫生積淀，繪制丹青，藝術美與裝飾美通成一體，自成一派，打上了非常個性化的藝術標簽，有新派開宗的丹青造詣。

民族魂，四尺豎整幅
王孝誠繪畫，善施精至繁筆，意境舒闊，筆法卻相當致密。看繪畫品質，首看筆法之工，大師齊白石、李可染、關山月，雖然皆是寫意大師，但是寫意的另一面卻是精工巨匠。特別是齊白石工筆小蟬，謂之絕技。王孝誠山水和植繪作品，亦顯繁筆精工，造型精確，質成活性，他的丹青筆法一是不自欺，二是不欺人，三是不欺世，一路傳承大師明示，趨成大師新功，可謂是朝起而學，暮研不止，筆耕無輟，筆技如癡。
王孝誠植物繪品，不取一枝一葉，不畏繁雜，取大而全，有整體構制，成大統境界，所以可以通過他的一幅作品整觀春秋，而不是一枝一葉的單薄與乏味。別人制一幅畫，眨眼可成，虛功太多的原因。王孝誠繪一幅作品，數月精工，實功歷歷，一目了然，所以他的繪畫作品通常是枝、葉、干，天、地、氣的所有，不是單音符，而是合奏曲。情動人，景宜人，仰而一觀，十分悅目，相當動心。他的植繪作品，皆可成畫譜之功。照王孝誠植繪作品修丹青，事半功倍，佳績可成。功高為師，造詣可敬。
他的山水，不酬酢無俗質，在師傳統復古韻的前提下，又絕不獨落前技巢臼，山水創作時能破舊范出新奇，是丹青緊隨時代，破求得新意的典范。他畫山水，不閉門造車，而是親歷山水，有收盡奇峰打草稿的寫生積淀，所以山水之姿，在他的畫面里仍舊是自然真味。
山水之功，源成自然，再加上他善用皴筆點染，遠點近皴，巧妙顧映，萬般調整，一幅山水，必得意象神采，借助純熟的技法，抒發豪邁情懷就如順水順風駕輕舟，快意到達，極致入神。
