1911年10月在辛亥革命的歷史大背景下,以保路運(yùn)動(dòng)為開端，12月四川省宣布獨(dú)立，建立大漢四川軍政府。尹昌衡出任軍政部長(zhǎng),被推為都督后,組織軍政府。為滿足軍需和保路運(yùn)動(dòng)的需要，同時(shí)也為了維持政府開支，于1912年起，四川成都造幣廠奉軍政府之令，更換前清龍紋銅元舊模，雕版民國(guó)銅元新款，正式開鑄“軍政府造四川銅幣漢字銀元”，開鑄之初僅發(fā)行十文、二十文兩種錢幣。同年5月，又添鑄當(dāng)五十文一種，當(dāng)年計(jì)鑄十文銅元6055萬(wàn)余枚，二十文銅元1247萬(wàn)余枚，五十文銅元935萬(wàn)余枚。"軍政府造四川銅幣"是辛亥革命時(shí)期的產(chǎn)物。1911年12月發(fā)生"成都兵變"，以尹昌衡、羅綸為正副都督的四川軍政府取代了成立僅12天的大漢四川軍政府。新的四川軍政府成立之初即面臨著需用日繁、度支日絀的財(cái)政困窘局面。軍政府迅速接管了四川成都造幣廠，決定鑄造"四川銅幣"以應(yīng)急。

In the same year, more than 60.55 million ten Wen copper coins, 12.47 million twenty Wen copper coins and 9.35 million fifty Wen copper coins were cast. "The military government made Sichuan copper coins" is a product of the 1911 Revolution. In December 1911, the "Chengdu mutiny" took place. The Sichuan military government, with Yin Changheng and Luo Lun as the chief and deputy governors, replaced the 12 day old Sichuan military government. At the beginning of the establishment of the new Sichuan military government, it was faced with a financial dilemma of increasing demands and spending. The military government quickly took over the Sichuan Chengdu mint and decided to cast "Sichuan copper coins" in case of emergency.
由于四川銅幣的通行率不高，只能在四川范圍內(nèi)進(jìn)行交易，所以流通范圍很窄，導(dǎo)致四川銅幣的發(fā)行量不高。向來(lái)經(jīng)濟(jì)規(guī)律和收藏首要以“物以稀為貴”定律為標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。作為特殊歷史時(shí)期、地方政權(quán)的特殊貨幣，軍政府貨幣具有軍用貨幣和民用貨幣的雙重職能，是歷史的產(chǎn)物，具有不可替代的文物價(jià)值，是歷史的見證。

此枚錢幣圖案文字清晰、無(wú)磨損，表面平整光潔，邊緣無(wú)明顯撞擊痕跡等，基本可算得上好品相。銅幣正面中央珠圈內(nèi)有"四川銅幣"四字，上下左右分列，其中心飾有芙蓉花紋。珠圈上緣書"軍政府造"四字，下緣為"當(dāng)制錢一百文"字樣，標(biāo)明幣值，左右飾以花星紋飾。銅幣背面中央大圓圈內(nèi)為一篆書"漢"字，"漢"字底有數(shù)十條橫直紋，因而錢幣收藏者也稱之為"漢"字銅元。"漢"字圓圈外還環(huán)繞有18個(gè)小圓圈，代表當(dāng)時(shí)的十八個(gè)省份。把18個(gè)小圓圈圍繞著"漢"字聯(lián)成一體，寓意十八省人民團(tuán)結(jié)起來(lái)共同為"驅(qū)逐韃虜，恢復(fù)中華"而戰(zhàn)斗。它帶有辛亥革命那一時(shí)期鮮明的時(shí)代印記，見證了那一段波瀾壯闊的民國(guó)歷史!據(jù)此它有著不同的收藏價(jià)值。
