【藏品簡介】：綜觀我國貨幣史，王莽時期是歷史上幣制最亂的時期之一，前后共鑄行錢幣28品之多。所以，各種莽幣都是王莽搜刮民財的歷史見證。王莽是一個“托古改制”的歷史怪人，貨幣幣型也就以復古為主，雖然也采用“圓錢”幣型，但多采用“布幣”幣型，有的采用“刀幣”幣型。雖然刀幣、布幣因制造難度大而顯著地增加了防偽性，但用材量大、鑄造加工困難大，攜帶不便，人為地增加了流通困難，不能不說是一種歷史倒退。
