明代成化年間制瓷量大，尤其以創(chuàng)燒斗彩而馳名后世。成化斗彩以杯碗類小器繁多，紋飾豐富多彩，器形多種多樣而構(gòu)成其獨(dú)特風(fēng)景線。而我們熟知的雞缸杯，其實(shí)不過是成化小器中普通的器形之一，而其雞缸紋也只是林林總總的紋飾中之一種常用紋飾而已。

此斗彩雞缸杯，這一器形在成化斗彩瓷器中，可謂極為少見。紋飾描畫率意，線條流暢而不拘泥，乃青花描線，施以綠、紅、黃、淡紫等斗彩典型彩釉而成，本杯胎體較薄，白釉然略泛含淡青，釉色極為溫潤(rùn)，包漿相當(dāng)潤(rùn)澤，長(zhǎng)期積成的漿垢，附著異常緊實(shí)，擦之不去，整體釉色包漿，彰顯悠久年代，絲毫見不到那種新釉之刺眼光亮，其極為自然溫潤(rùn)之釉色漿垢。根據(jù)其紋飾描繪風(fēng)格和用彩以及款識(shí)等特征辯識(shí)，本杯紋飾與款識(shí)具有極為典型的成化時(shí)期斗彩風(fēng)格，可以毫不客氣地說，紋飾及其風(fēng)格特征諸項(xiàng)均呈開門之相矣。
