Copper incense burner is a kind of incense burning appliance made of copper, which is a traditional handicraft with a long history. Although the copper censers have the same texture, they have been made into various forms by craftsmen of different times. There are also many uses of copper censers, such as fumigating copper censers, or furnishing copper censers, or worshiping Buddha copper censers.
It's not necessarily good if the volume of the copper stove is too large, because the large-scale copper stove used in temples and shrines is often rough, but the copper stove used in the study is specially made by the literati, so the materials are fine and the technology is good. Most of the copper stoves are high-grade, elegant, wonderful, good or even the best. Most of the private copper stoves belong to the stationery and sacrificial utensils of the official families or rich families. They are specially cast, so they are isolated products. Later, they have the names and postscripts that like them handed down from generation to generation, but they can't be mass produced. Therefore, the private copper stoves with good shape, fine copper, good leather and color, and excellent style and character have high cultural relic value, artistic taste and market value.
It began in the Warring States period, but the stoves specially designed for burning incense did not appear until the Han Dynasty. The most famous incense burner in Han Dynasty is "Boshan stove", which is mostly made of bronze and occasionally comes with finished pottery. There are holes on the stove to make the aroma diffuse. The concept of incense decontamination and the shape of the stove are influenced by popular ideas such as immortals and alchemists. After the popularity of Xuanfeng in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, scholars began to pay attention to posture, and "fumigating clothes and shaving face" became the embodiment of elegant manners of the scholars, so the styles of aromatherapy became more diversified, and most of them were made of celadon. Buddhism flourished in the Tang Dynasty, and the shapes of incense utensils were more diverse. There are copper products, Stranglers and even gold and silver. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were many fumigants made of copper.
