此枚咸豐重寶當(dāng)五十錢(qián)幣，觀鑄識(shí)體。可見(jiàn)本品鑄體精整，鑄相方正圓矩，坦平地章，字廓深竣挺拔，穿輪干凈整潔。中等緣穿廓粗細(xì)，徑較一般當(dāng)五十錢(qián)更大，鑄體較為厚重。其面背錢(qián)文布局規(guī)矩協(xié)調(diào)，橫直豎立，筆畫(huà)清晰間隔有距卻無(wú)粘連。穿口略有斜拔，清大錢(qián)鑄相特征明顯。很明顯，此鑄相可謂優(yōu)等，品質(zhì)十分鮮明，錢(qián)文楷書(shū)書(shū)體，書(shū)意端莊雋美，筆畫(huà)力道十足，筆鋒鮮明犀利，滿文書(shū)正筆端，值得特別注意的，是其“寳”字書(shū)意獨(dú)特，“爾寳”，其字形相對(duì)其它而言更為矮壯寬闊，背“五十”字形相對(duì)瘦長(zhǎng)，筆畫(huà)壯實(shí)規(guī)矩，堪稱(chēng)精品。
