豆、麥穗→民國元年三月二日，孫中山頒布臨時大總統令，對新造貨幣式樣作了規定《擬另刊新模，鼓鑄紀念幣，…其余通用新幣，中間應繪五谷模型，取豐歲足民之義，垂勸農務本之規》【五谷指：稻、黍（即黃米）、稷（即谷子）、麥、菽（即豆）】。

此枚中華民國孫像開國紀念幣銀元，正面中央為孫中山側面肖像，邊緣內上鐫中文隸書體“中華民國”4字、下鐫“開國紀念幣”5字、左右長枝花飾。背面中央為中文隸書體“壹圓”及嘉禾，邊緣英文“中華民國”、“壹圓”，左右分列五角星(后改為六角星)。邊齒為橄欖齒，成色96%-96.9%，俗稱“小頭”。該幣正背面圖案比較正規，中英文沒有差錯，版面清晰，設置六角星，稱其為六角星版，具有一定的收藏價值。
