光緒二十五年(1899年)四月，清廷下令除保留廣東、湖北兩地造幣廠外，其余造幣廠全部裁撤，力圖將鑄幣權(quán)收歸中央，同年6月清政府在北京籌辦“京局”(即中央造幣廠)。經(jīng)榮祿極力保留，清廷準(zhǔn)許北洋機器局繼續(xù)鑄造銀幣，北洋機器局更名為北洋銀元局，其后鑄造的銀幣銘文改為“北洋造”。光緒二十六年、光緒二十九年、光緒三十三年、光緒三十四年，北洋機器局按年分相繼鑄造了一系列光緒元寶。光緒33年北洋造光緒元寶庫平七錢二分銀幣其正面中央珠圈內(nèi)鐫滿漢文“光緒元寶”四個字，珠圈外上端鐫漢文“北洋造”，下端鐫漢文幣值“庫平七錢二分”，左右兩端各鐫一個圓點。銀幣背面中央鐫蟠龍圖，上環(huán)鐫英文“光緒33年”（有大小字之分），下鐫英文“北洋”，左右兩端稍下側(cè)各鐫一個圓點。
In April of the 25th year of Guangxu reign (1899), the Qing government ordered all the mints in Guangdong and Hubei to be abolished except for retaining the mints in Guangdong and Hubei. In June of the same year, the Qing government prepared to set up the "Beijing Bureau" (i.e., the Central Mint) in Beijing. After that, it was changed to "silver coin made by the Northern Warlords" with the permission of the Northern Warlords. In the 26th, 29th, 33rd and 34th year of Guangxu, a series of Guangxu Yuanbao were successively produced by Beiyang Machinery Bureau. In the 33rd year of Guangxu reign, Guangxu Yuanbao was made in Beiyang. On the front of the coin, four characters of "Guangxu Yuanbao" were engraved in the central bead circle in Chinese. On the outside of the bead circle, the Chinese character "made in Beiyang" was engraved on the top, and the Chinese currency value of "Kuping Qiqian Fen" was engraved at the lower end. A dot was engraved on the left and right ends of the coin. On the back of the silver coin, a dragon is engraved in the middle of the reverse, the upper ring is inscribed with the English word "33rd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu" (there are big and small characters), and the English word "Beiyang" is engraved on the bottom. A dot is engraved on the lower side of the left and right ends.
清代光緒年間特有的一種貨幣。有著清朝貨幣特征，由于當(dāng)時時局不穩(wěn)定，因此幾乎在全國的各個省都有專門的貨幣鑄造廠。因此我們會發(fā)現(xiàn)那個時代的貨幣上都有鮮明的鑄字，標(biāo)明是哪個省的造幣廠鑄造的。我們可以看出這枚光緒元寶保存得非常完好，鑄字非常清晰，具有鮮明的特色。
A unique currency in the reign of Emperor Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. Because of the unstable situation at that time, there were special coin foundries in almost every province of the country.
