鄭板橋（1693—1765）清代官吏、書畫家、文學(xué)家。名燮，字克柔，漢族，江蘇興化人。一生主要客居揚州，以賣畫為生。“揚州八怪”之一。其詩、書、畫均曠世獨立，，世稱“三絕”，擅畫蘭、竹、石、松、菊等植物，其中畫竹已五十余年，成就最為突出。

鄭板橋在蘇州住了三年之后，決定遷移到揚州去。

　　臨行時，呂子敬前來為他送行。畫友相別，當(dāng)然得送丹青。這次鄭板橋贈給呂子敬的，卻是一幅梅花。只見他展紙揮筆，筆走側(cè)鋒，由深入淺，畫出了蒼蒼點點帶有飛白的梅花主干。畫花朵時，用墨濃淡相宜，有輕有重，花瓣用淡墨直接點出，等水分未干時又在花瓣下端以焦墨滲化。整個畫面的結(jié)構(gòu)，只有三四朵梅花畫得清晰，余者皆涂涂抹抹，真有“觸目橫斜千萬樹，賞心只有三五朵”的意境。
