Ru kiln is the pinnacle of Chinese porcelain. Almost all of the 79 pieces of Ru kiln left in the world are collected by the world's major museums. At Christie's auction in new york in 1992, one piece of Ru kiln plate owned by American collectors was sold for US$ 1.54 million, which was purchased by Hong Kong collectors. Another piece of Ru kiln plate was sold for US$ 60,000 in Christie's in new york in 2006. In April 2012, at the auction of "Chinese Porcelain and Crafts" held in Sotheby's, Hong Kong, the 900-year-old "Sunflower Wash with Azure Glaze in Ru Kiln of Northern Song Dynasty" was sold at a sky-high price of HK$ 207.86 million, setting a new auction record for Song porcelain in the world.
It is the pinnacle in the history of Chinese arts and crafts and the best interpretation of national aesthetic spirit. In 800 years, it has faded away and is as light as dust. It is the sigh of Emperor Gaozong that "you are especially rare" and the melancholy of Emperor Qianlong that "imitating you is not like you". It is the Ru kiln, which takes the lead and ranks first among the five famous kilns in Song Dynasty, namely Ru, Guan, Ge, Jun and Ding. Since the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the court Ru Ci used utensils, which were stored in the inner library and regarded as treasures, which were more expensive than the Shang Yi and Zhou Ding. Praised by all previous dynasties, it has the reputation of "the first of famous porcelain" and "the crown of Song porcelain".
The appearance of Ru Ci is closely related to the emperor Song Huizong. Some people say that Song Huizong is the most talented emperor in Chinese history. He is not only superb in painting and calligraphy, but also reached the peak in his celadon craft represented by Ru Ci in the last twenty years of his administration. However, after the demise of the Northern Song Dynasty, Ru Ci's craft was mysteriously lost. For more than 800 years, no one knew where it was burned, and no one knew how it was burned. People only knew that it was priceless in the eyes of emperors and nobles.
As an artist, Song Huizong has extremely demanding aesthetic requirements on the material, color, ornamentation and texture of Ru Ci. At the bottom of Ru Ci, you can often see such sesame seeds, which are called Zhi Ding marks. This is designed by Ru kiln craftsmen in pursuit of flawless texture, and in the firing process, they use extremely thin pins to support the carrier tire, so as to reduce the area that cannot be glazed.
Azurite glaze is green and restrained, the thin part of glaze reflects the fragrant gray carcass, the cracks on the surface are as fine and interlaced as crab claws, and the stars-like sparse bubbles float above the glaze layer, which are the most representative features of Ru Ci. As for the glaze color of Ru Ci, there is a story in history. It is said that Song Huizong once had a dream, dreaming that after the heavy rain, the distant sky was broken and there was a mysterious blue sky, which was particularly fascinating. After waking up, he wrote a poem: "After a rainy day, the clouds are ruined", and he took craftsmen as a reference and asked them to fire porcelain with similar colors. At that time, I don't know how many craftsmen were stumped. Finally, the craftsmen in Ruzhou were superior and burned out the azure blue that satisfied Song Huizong, so this azure blue between blue and green became synonymous with Ru kiln.
Ru kiln azure glaze plate, skimming, folding edge, curved wall, flat bottom, circle foot and outer skimming. The azure glaze is applied inside and outside the whole body, with thick glaze juice, elegant shape and simple lines to set off the refined glaze color, which is crystal clear as jade. The glaze is finely chipped, subtle and exquisitely made. The bottom of the plate is full of glaze. Because of the use of "foot-wrapping and burning", there are five sesame-sized Zhi Ding burning marks on the outsole, revealing gray-white tire soil, commonly known as fragrant gray tire. This device has regular shape, delicate fetal quality, glaze like coagulate fat, green sky and beautiful opening, which gives people an elegant texture of "after rain, clear clouds and broken places". It is almost perfect, and it is an extraordinary work with wonderful workmanship!
"The sky is blue and I'm waiting for you." Now, this beautiful color may no longer be seen over the earth, but these vessels, which are as beautiful as jade, reproduce for us the elegance of nature more than 800 years ago. Song Huizong advocates Taoism, pursues nature, and is indifferent to simplicity.
