張林東，山東淄博人，大學學歷，中國共產黨黨員，國家干部，省政協委員。現任文化部中國傳統文化促進會藝術委員會執行主任，中華全國書畫家聯合會主席、黨組書記，中國毛澤東詩詞書畫藝術研究院院長，中國書協會員，國家一級美術師。2013年3月應泰國國防部邀請在泰國皇宮成功舉辦個人畫展，并先后韓國、法國、美國多個國家成功舉辦個人畫展。他的國畫潤格1平尺3萬元，書法作品達每平尺2萬元。他創作的山水畫《錦秋神韻圖》在2012年6月全國人大會議中心義賣達148萬元。他書寫的毛體《長征》詩，在上海拍賣16萬元人民幣，由國務院認定為國家領導人出訪的國禮作品，受到黨和國家領導人的高度評價，2014年全國兩會光榮當選為特邀嘉賓。
Zhang Lindong, a native of Zibo, Shandong Province, has a university degree, is a member of the Communist Party of China, a national cadre and a member of the CPPCC. In March 2013, at the invitation of the Ministry of National Defense of Thailand, he successfully held a solo exhibition in the Royal Palace of Thailand, and successively held solo exhibitions in Korea, France and the United States. His traditional Chinese painting is 30,000 yuan per square foot, and his calligraphy works are 20,000 yuan per square foot. His landscape painting "Jin Qiu Shen Yun Tu" was sold at the National People's Congress Convention Center in June 2012 for 1.48 million yuan. The Mao Long March poem written by him was auctioned in Shanghai for RMB 160,000, which was recognized by the State Council as a national ceremony work for state leaders to visit, and was highly praised by the party and state leaders. In 2014, the National People's Congress was honored as a special guest.

張林東是革命家庭的后代。受家庭的熏陶,張林東從小對毛主席懷有深厚的感情。從15歲開始,研習毛體的張林東，潛心研究毛澤東思想以及毛澤東的人生軌跡,人格魅力,既汲取毛澤東書法精華 ,將書法用筆、結體和章法的豐富神態表現的淋漓盡致。中國文聯副主席、中國美術館館長馮遠,著名書法家李鐸都給予了高度評價。李鐸則說:“林東的毛體展現出了毛澤東書法藝術的神韻,誠為可嘉。”
Zhang Lindong is a descendant of the revolutionary family. Influenced by his family, Zhang Lindong had deep feelings for Chairman Mao since childhood. 2007年初，張林東創辦中國毛澤東詩詞書畫藝術研究院，得到了毛澤東親屬等人的大力支持。研究院在全國各地設分會,辦展覽,搞聯誼,講傳統,足跡遍布大江南北,成為京城一支傳播紅色文化的重要力量。2009年,張林東又遵照文化部的文化發展要求，成立了中華全國書畫家聯合會, 并被納入文化部中國傳統文化促進會直接領導,文化部傳統文化促進會還任命張林東為傳播藝術委員會執行主任。目前，中華全國書畫家聯合會省級分會已成立十多個,地市級20多個,會員近2000人。

No pains, no gains. His Mao calligraphy works are collected by Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, by Mao Zedong's relatives Mao Anqing, Shao Hua and Li Ne, and by national leaders and international friends. The work Ode to Mountains and Rivers has won wide acclaim from experts and won the title of "Top 100 Chinese Painting and Calligraphy".
