時大彬（1573年-1648年），著名的紫砂“四大家”之一時朋的兒子，明清時期宜興紫砂藝術一代宗匠。

時大彬早期好仿供春大壺，作品風格堅致樸雅。后在泥料中摻入砂，開創(chuàng)了調砂法，并改進了供春“斫木為模”的制法，使紫砂壺制法得到一大飛躍。他還首創(chuàng)方形、圓形壺式，并把大壺改小，使壺藝與茶道相結合，把壺藝推進了一個新高度。

Shi Dabin (1573-1648), the son of one of the famous "four masters" of purple sand, was a master craftsman of Yixing Zisha art in Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Shi Dabin liked to imitate the big pot for spring in his early period, and his work style was firm, simple and elegant. After that, sand was added into the mud to create the sand adjusting method, and the method of making "Zhumu as the mold" was improved, and the purple clay pot making method got a great leap forward. He also pioneered the square and round pot style, and changed the big pot into a small one, combining the pot art with the tea ceremony, and promoting the pot art to a new height.

時大彬是宜興紫砂壺成熟的標志性人物，自大彬始，以砂壺為代表的宜興紫砂茶具漸趨成為重金競逐的寶玩。關于時大彬的生卒年有不少學者進行過詳細的考證，比較普遍的說法是明萬歷至清順治年間人，也有學者認為其出生時間早到隆慶甚至嘉靖晚期，創(chuàng)作期最可能出現(xiàn)在萬歷早期。

此款大彬提梁身筒成較大且豐滿的扁球形，上部圓環(huán)狀提梁粗大，六方三彎嘴，壓蓋圈底，將方與圓盡寓一身。身筒以實托虛，圓環(huán)以虛帶實，上下兩個圓弧構成的虛實對照，達到了視覺上的微妙平衡，整體上讓人感覺氣勢雄健，渾然一體，所謂“周接四海之表，浮于元氣之上”。

《夢溪筆談》中說：“星辰居四方而中虛，八卦分八方而中虛，不中虛不足以妙萬物”。
