較早的布票很像郵票中的小本票，外面有包皮，里面是票證。票面印有名稱、數量及存根等，購買物品裁掉，留下存根。布票收集難度比糧票等其它票證要大得多，尤其是成套布票，不是聯張的較難配齊，身價不凡，一套布票數過萬、上百萬元。早期布票尋覓極難，漸成珍品。

此藏品為1983年山西省布票（壹市尺），布票每張布票下方都有副券，注明"剪下副券作廢"，蓋"山西省商業廳"圓章。綠色花紋邊框帶背景，上方為“山西省布票”綠色字，中間為“壹市尺”黑色字，下方年份為“1983”紅色字體，下版面有一小框為副劵。此藏品設計有明顯的時代特征，彩色印刷，設計精美，圖案豐富 ，其獨特的設計和印刷，與糧票相比毫不遜色，所以受到眾多收藏者的青睞，具有很高的欣賞和收藏價值。
