On December 29, 1910, after the revolution of 1911, representatives of 17 provinces who had been restored elected Sun Yat Sen as the provisional president of the Republic of China in Nanjing. On January 3, 1912, the government of the Republic of China was founded, and the Qing Dynasty was destroyed. The feudal autocracy which lasted for more than 2000 years in China ended. When the Republic of China was founded, due to the fact that the currency system had not yet been established, most of the major mints still used the steel mould of the former Qing Dynasty to cast silver coins for circulation, except for the silver coins of the Han Dynasty in Sichuan and the Chinese Yuan Bao in Fujian. Due to the confusion of the currency system, Chen Jintao, finance minister of the provisional government, presented a letter to President Sun Yat Sen on March 11, the first year of the Republic of China, and proposed to forge 100000 yuan commemorative silver coins for rectification.
After the founding of the Republic of China, copper coins continued to be widely used. In 1914, Tongyuan was officially renamed "copper coin". The biggest difference between the copper coins issued in the Republic of China and the Qing Dynasty was that the dragon pattern was replaced by Jiahe pattern composed of rice ears. Most of the copper coins cast in each province are the flag patterns with two forks. During the period of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, there were many currency types in China's money market, and the most widely used were silver dollar and copper dollar. Among these various types of currency, the Double Flag coin is the one with the most special historical significance.
In these two Sichuan versions of Daqing Copper Coin, the Chinese character "Daqing Copper Coin" is written in the front circle of the coin, and the word "Chuan" is cast in the center. The left and right sides of the upper end of the bead circle are divided into the words "Ganzhi" and "Bingwu". The words "Hubu" and "Degree Branch" of the province are engraved in the middle of the two sides outside the bead circle, and the lower ring book is "When making money 20 articles", the back bead. This collection has two pieces of Chinese copper coins on the back, with the word "Chinese copper coins" in the center of the front pattern of the coin, and the golden harvest pattern composed of rice ears on the back pattern is wrapped with "two pieces". Although the collection has experienced endless years, the grain is still clearly visible, and the patina on it has also witnessed its historical accumulation, which has very obvious historical transitional characteristics and has indescribable collection value.
In recent years, the price of coins has been rising continuously, especially the coins of the Republic of China. In 2013, a perfect "Chinese copper coin" sold for 3 million yuan, which became a thunderbolt in the collection field. The collection value of "Chinese copper coin" is difficult to estimate, and it is a dark horse in the antique collection market. In addition, the use of these mechanism coins has important practical and historical significance.
