后人總結這種成型模式，把自然界、動植物界的自然形態，用浮雕、半浮雕等造型裝飾設計成仿生象形的茶壺，稱之味“花貨”。它是用提煉取舍、變形、夸張的藝術手段，表現自然形態中富有美學價值的部分，并符合功能合理、視覺美觀和使用安全的使用原則或者在幾何形體上運用雕鏤捏塑，將自然形態變化為造型的部件，如嘴、鋬。總之，幾乎所有與民生關聯的動植物，如梅、竹、柏、桃、蓮、青蛙、蝴蝶、松鼠、蟬等，都在紫砂藝人的造型視野之內，成為紫砂藝人的美好想象和幸福憧憬的題材。
