五路財(cái)神共有兩種說法,其一是指的趙公明及其手下的四位部將。東路財(cái)神除了中路為武財(cái)神趙公明外,其余四路為東路財(cái)神招寶天尊蕭升、西路財(cái)神納珍天尊曹寶、南路財(cái)神招財(cái)使者陳九公、北路財(cái)神利市仙官姚少司 。這五路財(cái)神的故事可從一部中國的古典名著《封神演繹》中探得其來歷:趙公明是在開天辟地時修成大道,法力通玄,本來在三山五岳任其逍遙,奈何烽煙四起,神仙也不能置之度外 。在商朝太師聞仲的邀請下,趙公明伙同其他幾個截教的神仙蕭升、曹寶、陳九公、姚少司等與西岐軍隊(duì)大戰(zhàn)并屢敗對方,一時聲威大振,奈何截教違反天規(guī),最終被輔佐西岐的正道闡教神仙所殺,魂歸封神榜 。待戰(zhàn)爭結(jié)束后,姜子牙封神時,感其忠勇,趙公明被封為金龍如意正乙龍虎玄壇真君之神,率領(lǐng)四部正神招寶天尊蕭升、納珍天尊曹寶、招財(cái)使者陳九公、利市仙官姚少司,主迎祥納福,管天下財(cái)運(yùn),故俗稱財(cái)神 。

Zhao Gongming was named as the true king god of Jinlong Ruyi Zhengyi Longhuxuan altar, and led four God-seeking Buddha Xiao Sheng, Nazhen Buddha Cao Bao, lucky messenger Chen Jiugong, and Lishi Xian Guan Yao Shaosi, who welcomed the blessings and managed the fortune in the world, so they were commonly known as the God of Wealth.
