此藏品的青釉為第四代蘇麻離青進口青料，其中獅子身形威武霸氣，青龍飛入云霄之氣勢，獅子主體以蘇麻離青為主，釉里紅為輔，對比鮮明！飛入云霄的青龍，整體青龍以蘇麻離青燒制而成。蘇麻離青，又稱蘇泥麻青、蘇勃泥青、蘇泥勃青等。簡稱“蘇料”。名稱的來源，一說是來自波斯語“蘇來曼”的譯音。這種鈷料的產地在波斯卡山夸姆薩村，村民們認為是一名叫蘇來曼的人發現了這種鈷料，故以其名字來命名此料。另一種說法是，蘇泥麻青應為蘇麻離青，是英文smalt的譯音，意為一種藍玻璃。
