清代機制銅圓的鑄造，鑄造流通時間盡管只有十余年，但其鼎盛時期全國共有十七省二十局開機鑄造銅圓。如以細微區別劃分，其版式在千種以上。因此當代銅圓收藏愛好者以收集到十大名譽錢幣之“大清銅幣”為最大樂事。清代銅圓鑄造之初，清政府并沒有對銅圓的紋飾圖案作嚴格的規定。因此，各省局所鑄銅圓盡管其幣背皆采用龍型圖案，但龍型各異，種類繁多。
