根據(jù)史書(shū)記載和考古發(fā)現(xiàn),在音樂(lè)十分發(fā)達(dá)的唐宋時(shí)期,越窯青瓷作為一種樂(lè)器演奏,在樂(lè)府的推動(dòng)下,曾盛行于茶樓酒館和皇室貴族。

越窯編鐘是遠(yuǎn)古擊缶之樂(lè)、擊毆之樂(lè)與水盞之樂(lè)的延續(xù)和發(fā)展,它是用陶瓷土制成的樂(lè)器和器皿進(jìn)行建制音樂(lè)演奏,并以越窯燒制編鐘為主的一種藝術(shù)表現(xiàn)形式和表演技藝。越窯編鐘擁有深厚的歷史文化底蘊(yùn)。在唐宋時(shí)期,它伴隨著越窯青瓷的興盛而盛行,是封建社會(huì)音樂(lè)文化的重要組成部分。

歷史上,先后有三大越窯青瓷生產(chǎn)中心,一是上虞曹娥江中游地區(qū),二是慈溪上林湖一帶,三是鄞縣東錢(qián)湖地區(qū)。三大中心,以慈溪上林湖為最盛。從遺址的情況看,上林湖越窯遺址堆積豐富,規(guī)模宏大,時(shí)間跨度大,因而被稱為“露天青瓷博物館”。迄今已經(jīng)發(fā)現(xiàn)的7處東漢晚期至三國(guó)時(shí)期的窯址表明,早在東漢時(shí),上林湖就已成功燒制出大型的罐、壇等日用青瓷器皿。瓷器紋飾簡(jiǎn)古,造型淳樸,制作技術(shù)已經(jīng)相當(dāng)成熟。

而今,在全國(guó)各地陸續(xù)出土的100余件(組)各個(gè)時(shí)期的越窯瓷器遺珍,從這些展品中,能清晰地看到一部完整的越窯瓷器發(fā)展史。燒制了千年,消逝了千年,在千年的輝煌與千年的落寞之后,越窯瓷器再次回歸,重放光彩。

此件越窯編鐘是越窯典型器物之一,它歷經(jīng)水與火的洗禮,曾經(jīng)的記憶正在化為今日的傳奇。越窯編鐘這種中國(guó)瓷樂(lè)中最古老、最有代表性和最具特色的封建樂(lè)器,在千年之后,終于重新展現(xiàn)在世人面前。
