宋慶齡(1893----1981),孫中山夫人。出生于上海。早年留學(xué)美國,畢業(yè)回國后,任孫中山的秘書。1926年1月在國民黨“二大”上當(dāng)選為執(zhí)行委員。在國民黨二屆三中全會(huì)上被選為中央政治委員會(huì)委員和國民政府委員。蔣介石發(fā)動(dòng)“四?一二”政變后,赴原蘇聯(lián),其后成為世界反法西斯委員會(huì)主要領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人之一。1938年6月發(fā)起組織保衛(wèi)中國同盟。抗日戰(zhàn)爭勝利后,組織中國福利基金會(huì),致力于婦幼衛(wèi)生、文化教育和社會(huì)救濟(jì)事業(yè)。1949年9月,在中國人民政治會(huì)議第一屆全體協(xié)商會(huì)議上當(dāng)選為常務(wù)委員會(huì)副委員長。中華人民共和國成立后,當(dāng)選為中華人民共和國副主席,中華全國民主婦女聯(lián)合會(huì)名譽(yù)主席。1981年5月15日,被接收為中國共產(chǎn)黨黨員,16日又被授予中華人民共和國名譽(yù)主席的稱號。為紀(jì)念宋慶齡逝世一周年,郵電部于1981年5月29日發(fā)行了一套紀(jì)念郵票。
Soong Ching Ling (1893-1981), Mrs. Sun Yat-sen. Born in Shanghai. He studied in the United States in his early years, and after graduation, he returned to China as Sun Yat-sen's secretary. In January 1926, he was elected as an executive member at the "Second Congress" of the Kuomintang. He was elected as a member of the Central Political Committee and a member of the National Government at the Third Plenary Session of the Second National Party Central Committee. After Chiang Kai-shek launched the "4-12" coup, he went to the former Soviet Union and became one of the main leaders of the World Anti-Fascist Committee. In June 1938, he initiated the organization to defend the China Alliance. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the China Welfare Foundation was organized to commit to maternal and child health, cultural education and social relief. In September 1949, he was elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee at the First Plenary Consultative Meeting of the Chinese People's Political Conference. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he was elected as the vice chairman of the People’s Republic of China and the honorary chairman of the All-China Democratic Women’s Federation. He was accepted as a member of the Communist Party of China on May 15, 1981, and was awarded the title of Honorary Chairman of the People's Republic of China on the 16th. To commemorate the first anniversary of Soong Ching Ling's death, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a set of commemorative stamps on May 29, 1981.
