Boilers and coin machines powered by steam engines were imported from Germany. In 1897, Fengtian Machinery Bureau was officially built. The predecessor of the General Administration of manufacturing silver yuan in Fengtian was Fengtian Machinery Bureau. From the 24th to 26th year of Guangxu (1898-1900), silver coins and machine-made copper coins were successively issued. In 1900, the Yihetuan Movement broke out, and the Fengtian Machinery Bureau was destroyed by the war. Later, in order to meet the needs of the market, Fengtian province rebuilt the mint at the original site of the machinery bureau, named "Fengtian silver and Yuan general bureau", which specialized in silver coins and copper coins.
