將軍罐，是因其體形碩大、造型飽滿、氣魄雄偉酷似一位頭頂纓盔的將軍而得名。從元代由短頸大腹的無蓋大罐到明代的荷葉蓋罐逐漸演變形成，從存世的實物來考證，真正成熟的將軍罐是從明代嘉靖、萬歷時期開始，到了清代康熙年間官窯、民窯大量燒造。清代中后期更是備受推崇。將軍罐也由實用器皿逐漸發展為用來陳設裝飾、供奉避邪的藝術品。

此罐直口、短頸、豐肩、鼓腹漸收、平底圈足，整器線條俊美，通體渾圓，體量頗大，因其蓋似將軍的頭盔，故而得名。其通體以青花繪制紋飾，釉色漿白，清雅脫俗，構圖巧妙，技法純熟，極具收藏觀賞價值。
