四川省于光緒二十九年在省城（成都）機(jī)器局附設(shè)成都銀元局內(nèi)開(kāi)鑄銅元。次年，又興建銅幣廠，專鑄銅元。四川省鑄造的銅元，按幣面上緣所鑄的紀(jì)地文字，可分“四川官局造”和“四川省造”兩大體系。在諸多的清龍銀元中，四川龍的各種版別算是比較雜亂的，雖然可能當(dāng)時(shí)鑄幣時(shí)因?yàn)殍T造人技術(shù)或知識(shí)的欠缺出現(xiàn)了許多方方面面的謬誤，導(dǎo)致了多批銀元在文字、圖案上的差異，形成了不少錯(cuò)版。經(jīng)鑄造局當(dāng)時(shí)大量回收，也有少部分流傳于民間。
