亥革命后,新的四川軍政府建設(shè)之初即面臨著需用日繁、度支日絀的財政困窘時勢。軍政府迅速接受了四川成都造幣廠。民國元年(1912)4月,四川成都造幣廠奉四川軍政府之命,開模鍛造“軍政府造四川銅幣”(也稱“漢”字銅元),軍政府造四川銅幣應(yīng)運而生,帶有鮮明而濃厚的歷史特征,歷史意義重大。
