蘇葆楨先生是我國著名花鳥畫家，其所以出名，是因為他的彩墨葡萄別具一格，在上世紀七十年代于畫壇引起不小的轟動。我知道“蘇葆楨”三個字，是在一本掛歷上，那是一本上世紀八十年代出版的《中國畫名家掛歷》，上面印的都是全國名家的書畫作品，有黃胄、李可染、吳作人、葉淺予、于非闇、俞致貞、劉力上、田世光、黃永玉，其中就有一幅蘇葆楨畫的彩墨葡萄，珠圓玉潤、晶瑩剔透。后來在榮寶齋畫店里，有幸看到他所畫彩墨葡萄的原作，真是幅幅精彩，有裝在竹籃里的，也有裝在筐里的；有純水墨技法畫成的，也有彩墨的，各具韻味，透出一種濃濃的鄉(xiāng)土氣息。

I know that the three words "Su Baozhen" are on a calendar. It is a calendar of famous Chinese painters published in the 1980s. Later, in rongbaozhai painting shop, I was lucky to see his original paintings of colored and ink grapes. They were really wonderful, some in bamboo baskets, some in baskets, some in pure ink painting techniques, and some in colored ink, each with a strong local flavor.
我國以葡萄入畫的歷史悠久，自古文人墨客多以葡萄為吟詠描繪的對象：“野田生葡萄，纏繞一枝高”、“西園晚霽浮嫩涼，開尊漫摘葡萄嘗”、“君家小圃占春光，眼看龍須百尺長”、“引蔓牽藤寸管頭，扶驪剔蚌出風流。三千龍女拋珠佩，一個儒生擁碧油”、“扶蔬老蔓敷新葉，下蓋累累紫水晶”，這些都是古代文人贊美葡萄的詩句，表達了詩人祈盼豐收富裕、吉祥喜慶、多子多福、人丁興旺的心境。
