Japan's "Longyang" was called "Yinyang" in China in the early years. It is actually a kind of abbreviation of foreign trade silver coin in China. As early as the middle of Ming Dynasty, Spain had made "local" silver coins (commonly known as "double pillars") in Mexico. Until the reign of Emperor Qianlong and Jiaqing of Qing Dynasty, China's foreign trade became more and more prosperous, and the types of silver coins flowing into China from foreign countries were also increasing. In addition to the "double pillars", there were Mexico's "Eagle ocean", Britain's "standing ocean", India's love of cat and pop, love of life "sitting in the ocean" and Japan's "dragon ocean" Among them, Mexico's "Eagle ocean" is the most famous, while Japan's "dragon ocean" is relatively less influential.
In the first year of Meiji (1868), Japan purchased a complete set of coin making machines from Hong Kong (British machine, the first set of Hong Kong coins was minted in Hong Kong from 1866 to 1868), and a National Mint was established in Osaka. In the third year of Meiji (1870), the Mint was completed and silver coins were immediately cast. "Yuan" was defined as Japan's standard currency, that is, the implementation of the silver standard system, Japan's early coinage of silver dollar, which meant to expel the Japanese ocean, the eagle ocean, and unify the currency at that time. It lasted 45 years until the third year of Taisho (1914). According to statistics, Japan's Longyang, which has cast 34 year titles, is in the order of the third year of Meiji, the seventh year, the eighth year, the ninth year, the tenth year, the eleventh to the thirtieth year, the thirty fourth year to the thirty ninth year, the forty first year, the forty fifth year and the third year of Taisho. The total amount of silver coins cast was about 200 million pieces. Longyang silver coins in the eighth year of Meiji in Japan were extremely rare. Later, from the 11th to the 30th year of Meiji, the amount of Longyang silver coins gradually increased and entered the golden age of Japan.
There are three formats of Japanese trade silver dollar: Meiji three year edition (front dragon picture with back sun); Meiji seventh year edition (changed to front dragon picture with back "one circle"); Meiji eighth year edition (changed to front dragon picture with back "trade silver", but this edition was only issued for 3 consecutive years); Meiji 11th year was changed back to the seventh year edition, and there was no change since then. Due to historical reasons, Japan's Longyang has a large amount in China and is easy to buy in the coin market, but this refers to the ordinary version. It is very difficult to see the Japanese Longyang issued in the third, seventh and eighth year of Meiji. Even if it is sold at a price, it is not cheap. This coin is a famous Japanese silver coin with the Chinese character "Yiyuan" on the front and the sun on the top, It is surrounded by cherry blossom branches and leaves, and the pattern at the bottom is a concentric knot made of silk ribbon. There are three words of "trade silver" in the middle, a flying dragon playing with beads on the back, and the words "great Japan, the eighth year of Meiji" and "420. One yen. 900" outside the Pearl. It has regular appearance, natural rust color and thick coating. Qian Wenxiu beauty, neat font, genuine, collection value is very high!
