In 1911, Jiangxi Province made the Dahan Copper Coin Center "Gan", one of the top ten treasures of Chinese copper coins, which was cast for a short time. At present, only seven pieces are known to exist in the world, two of which are in the National Museum of China and Shanghai Museum, respectively. It has precious historical value of the currency of the Revolution of 1911 and has always been highly valued by collectors; This piece is well preserved and precious.
On October 10, 1911, the Revolution of 1911 was inaugurated in Wuchang, and all provinces in China responded positively. On October 23, Li Liejun, a member of the League, instigated Jiujiang New Army to declare independence first, and set up Jiujiang military government, following the example of Hubei military government, with the 18-star flag as the military flag and Ma Yubao as the governor of Jiujiang. Immediately after taking office, in order to raise funds for the New Deal, the former Jiangxi Copper Dollar Factory in Nanchang was renovated, and around November of the same year, the "Jiangxi Xinhai Dahan Copper Coin" was minted, which became a famous copper coin. Xinhai Dahan Copper Coin imitates the style of Jiangxi Daqing Copper Coin, with the "Xinhai" calendar, with the Jiangxi Revolutionary Army flag pattern on the back, the center Tai Chi surrounded by eighteen stars, representing the eighteen provinces of the Central Plains, and the bottom is covered with circular arc lines. Due to the short casting time, the manufacturing process is slightly rough, and almost all the products you see are not good in appearance. On November 22, 1911, the Provisional Senate of Nanjing passed a resolution, which made the 18-star flag of Iron and Blood the army flag. The original Taiji 18-Star Flag Xinhai Dahan Copper Coin immediately stopped casting, and instead cast "Renzi Dahan Copper Coin", with the back pattern changed to Iron and Blood 18 Stars.
The Dahan copper coin of 1911 is extremely rare in the world, and it is listed as a first-class product in all major copper catalogues, which is the earliest embodiment of the Revolution of 1911 in currency and has epoch-making historical significance. In 1928, Woodward, a French collector of Chinese copper coins, first published the line drawing of Xinhai Dahan copper coins in Shanghai Journal of Fine Arts Science. Since 1928, seven copper coins have been found in Xinhai Dahan.
The casting of Jiangxi's "big fellow copper coins" reflects the strong desire of the people of the whole country to reform the old and innovate the new, to change the government, to witness and record the final burial of China's feudal system, and to fully reflect the expectations of the people in the storm, which was as swift as lightning. As a precious historical relic, this coin has been praised by the collectors as one of the ten treasures in China's modern mechanism copper circle. Tibetans have all dreamed of it. This is indeed worthy of it!
