There are two explanations for the origin of the name "iron". One is to take the meaning of symbolizing the Big Dipper. In ShuoWenJieZi of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it is explained that "the Dou is pictographic and has a handle"; in the annotation of ShuoWenJieZi of the Qing Dynasty, it is written: "the upper part is like the shape of a Dou, and the lower part is like its handle. If the Dou has a handle, it will cover the Big Dipper." The other is the shape of the iron. There are also irons called "fire" and "gold" irons.
The ancient iron did not use electricity, but put the red charcoal in the iron, and then use it when the bottom of the iron was too hot to use. Therefore, it is also called "fire iron". "Gold iron" refers to a very delicate iron, not ordinary folk goods, only aristocrats can enjoy. In today's laundries in some places, due to special needs or in the absence of electricity, there are also charcoal irons.
The iron in ancient China is 1880 years earlier than the electric iron invented by foreign countries. It is the first country in the world to invent and use iron.
The iron is well preserved. The iron has a grand shape and is printed with decorative patterns of Shang and Zhou Dynasties on its side. It belongs to the use of high-ranking officials and nobles, and its quantity is very small. Because of the political turmoil after the Qing Dynasty, it is difficult to preserve it. It is worth collecting.
