霍玉山，出生于1961年，遼寧人。霍玉山畢業于魯迅美術學院，進修于清華大學美術學院，大學副教授，霍玉山現為國家一級美術師、中國美術家協會遼寧會員、中國藝術教育研究院主任、中國當代花鳥研究院副院長。霍玉山師從于郭西河（吳昌碩嫡傳弟子王雪濤入室弟子）、朱乃正、王盛烈、孫恩同等名師。霍玉山愛好學習，拜師多人，是吳昌碩再傳弟子，徐悲鴻再傳弟子，吳作人嫡傳弟子。

Huo Yushan is a graduate of the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, a graduate of the School of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University, and an associate professor at the university, huo Yushan is currently a national first class artist, a member of the China Artists Association, Director of the University of London and Vice President of the China Contemporary Flower and Bird Research Institute. Huo Yushan studied under Guo Xihe (a disciple of Wu Changshuo) , Zhu Naizheng, Wang Shenglie and Sun En. Huo Yushan is fond of learning and worships many people. He is Wu Changshuo's disciple again, Xu Beihong's disciple again, Wu Zuoren's disciple.

2002年，霍玉山國畫《葵花正熟》獲毛澤東講話60周年美術精品展銀獎；
2007年，霍玉山國畫《冰冰與清清》入選全國百名國畫展；
2009年，霍玉山國畫《秋雨過后》，獲國畫藝術精品展金獎；2009年，霍玉山國畫《遠方的呼喚》，獲“迎新春?中國畫?國畫精品展”中金獎；2009年，霍玉山作品《閑著沒事》入選“第十一屆全國美術作品展覽”；
2010年，霍玉山國畫《清爽的風》，獲“慶祝澳門回歸10周年國際美術精品展”銀獎；2010年，霍玉山國畫《斜陽》、《鄉間小路》，獲“春之夢，太行之行”寫生創作優秀作品展金獎……
2014年9月，《人民日報》刊登霍玉山專訪及作品；霍玉山先后出版有《霍玉山油畫集》、《霍玉山國畫集》、《霍玉山山水畫集》、《霍玉山花鳥畫集》等。

此藏品為霍玉山版《國花圖》，是2017年金磚國家峰會時在廈門所繪，主題是:"深化金磚伙伴關系，開辟更加光明未來"。此畫有十個印章，印章是字畫作品中不可缺少的組成部分，缺少了印章就不成為完整的作品。印章最初是信物，起印證作用。宋、元以后，因注重了書畫題跋和署款，書家們逐漸認識到印章的藝術作用并注意在作品中發揮這一作用，使書畫、印合璧的藝術得以形成。書、印相映成趣，不但使作品增色，活躍氣氛，起到“錦上添花”的效果，而且能調整重心，補救布局上的不足，對作品起到穩定平衡的作用。在作品上署名蓋章，以示鄭重，可防止偽造；蓋上富有雅趣，還可寄托作者的抱負和情趣。因此歷來書家都非常重視用印，甚至自己刻印，使書印有機地結合起來，產生更美更強的藝術感染力。
