嘉慶帝即清仁宗愛新覺羅·颙琰(1760年11月13日-1820年9月2日)，原名永琰，清朝第七位皇帝，乾隆帝第十五子，年號嘉慶，1795年～1820年在位。在位前四年是太上皇乾隆帝發(fā)號施令，嘉慶帝并無實(shí)權(quán)。乾隆帝死后才獨(dú)掌大權(quán)。他懲治貪官和珅，肅清了吏治。他在位期間是世界工業(yè)革命興起的時(shí)期，也是清朝由盛轉(zhuǎn)衰的時(shí)期。內(nèi)憂外患此起彼伏，國內(nèi)爆發(fā)了白蓮教起義，清朝統(tǒng)治危機(jī)出現(xiàn)。他繼續(xù)推行閉關(guān)鎖國和重農(nóng)抑商政策，導(dǎo)致清朝落后世界大潮，留下千古遺恨。嘉慶帝學(xué)習(xí)先帝，勤于政事。在對外交涉中，嘉慶帝力主嚴(yán)禁鴉片，對英國侵略者在沿海的騷擾活動保持了高度警惕性。廟號仁宗，謚號受天興運(yùn)敷化綏猷崇文經(jīng)武光裕孝恭勤儉端敏英哲睿皇帝，葬于清西陵之昌陵。嘉慶通寶鑄于清仁宗嘉慶年間(1796-1820年)。
