Sichuan copper COINS were minted by the local government of Sichuan province in the late Qing Dynasty and the Beiyang Period. Due to the lack of silver and copper mines in Sichuan province and the warlords' division after the Revolution of 1911, the provisions of the Currency Regulations of the central government on the proportion of raw materials and the denomination of copper COINS were not strictly observed, leading to the appearance of copper and brass versions. Sichuan copper COINS began to be cast in June in the 29th year of guangxu Emperor (1903). It was not until November in the 24th year of the Republic of China (1935) that the legal currency was gradually withdrawn from circulation.
The front side of the copper coin is divided into layers with a circle wrapped in a floral pattern. In the center of the floral pattern, the Chinese character "Sichuan" is engraved. Above the circle, the Chinese character "the fifteenth year of the Republic of China" is inscribed.
The back of the copper coin has a four-pointed star pattern around the ears of wheat. The "200" number in the center represents the currency value of the coin.
