After the victory of the 1911 Revolution, the Republic of China was founded. This moment indicates that the Qing Dynasty which ruled China for 267 years no longer exists, and also means the disappearance of feudal society. At that time, because of years of war and chaos, leading to people's livelihood, social unrest, economic instability, even the military government also faced financial distress. In order to solve this dilemma, the Sichuan military government quickly set up a Sichuan mint, and decided to cast a large number of coins in an emergency, and the coins produced in this batch were made by the Sichuan copper army government.
Compared with Sun Xiang founding commemorative coins and Yuan Xiang silver coins, the circulation range of Sichuan copper coins made by the military government is relatively narrow, so the circulation volume and existing quantity of Sichuan copper coins cannot be compared with the former two. Because of this reason, the number of people who have contact with Sichuan currency is less and the researchers are less. However, this does not mean that the research value and market value of Sichuan currency are not high. The economic law and collection have always been based on the law of "rare is precious". As a special historical period, the special currency of local government is the product of history, has irreplaceable cultural relic value and is the witness of history, just like the currency issued by the peasant regime in the past. When the military government makes Sichuan copper coins, it should make 50 Wen coins. The front characters are Sichuan copper coins with four characters, and the middle is decorated with crabapple patterns. The upper margin of the coin is "made by the military government" and the lower margin is 100 Wen, indicating the currency value. The left and right sides are decorated with a flower star pattern. On the back, there are six characters in the first year of the Republic of China. There is a circle in the center, in which there is a seal character "Han". There are 18 small circles around the circle, representing the 18 provinces at that time. The 18 circles around the word "Han" mean that the people of 18 provinces unite to fight for "expelling Tartars and restoring China". It bears the distinctive time mark of the period of the revolution of 1911 and witnessed the magnificent history of the Republic of China! The purpose of currency issued by Sichuan military government is to raise military rates and maintain government expenditure, so it is of great historical significance to collect.
