青花“喜”字罐，俗稱為“喜字罐”，亦有“雙喜”罐之說，顧名思義是帶著吉祥喜慶的寓意。古代結婚都會訂制“喜字罐”用來放喜糖等等，給民間婚嫁喜事增添了喜慶吉利的色彩，至今民間祖上為富豪大宅人家的家中仍可見到。“喜字罐”最早起源于元代，盛行于明清時期。清代青花喜字罐在當時是非常典型的器物，只有人們在婚嫁時期才會特意去定制燒制雙“囍”罐，表達雙方歡喜之意，一般不會像其他瓷器一樣批量燒制。因其蘊含了古代文化，濃郁的喜慶氣息，可在家中擺放觀賞，有家庭美滿幸福之意。

據相關記載，雙喜字是北宋時期的王安石所創造出來的。據說它進京趕考，路上遇到馬員外家征聯招婿，凡是能對出“走馬燈，燈走馬，燈熄馬停步”下聯者即可招為女婿。王安石記下題目便匆匆赴考，一路順利進入殿試，沒想到皇上親自殿試的題目是為“飛虎旗，旗飛虎，旗卷虎藏身”求上聯，王安石大喜，趕忙對出“走馬燈，燈走馬，燈熄馬停步”得以高中。金榜題名時又遇洞房花燭夜，王安石自笑是雙喜臨門，大筆一揮，連體的雙喜字就纏上了，之后婚嫁喜事張貼雙喜字就成為民間的一種習俗。

Wang Anshi was so happy that he rushed out to get high school. Wang Anshi laughs at the wedding night. With a stroke of pen, the linked double happiness characters are wrapped up. After that, it becomes a folk custom to post double happiness characters on wedding ceremonies.
清代的青花喜字罐品種比較多，如何斷代就成了藏家在收藏中應該注意的問題。據專業人世所知，此類器物斷代的要點是：時代越晚喜字越大，喜字上頭的土字頭二橫長短也相差越大，喜字也由雙勾填色改為一筆刷成，勾蓮紋也由細筆描繪填色而變為簡筆亂，雜亂無章。這對青花喜字罐，罐口收斂露胎，足端內外斜削較尖，通體青花裝飾，正中寫“囍”字，白底青花對比強烈，形象概括夸張，時代風格濃厚，裝飾性強，為清代經典民窯青花器，常做大婚陳設之用。這件青花喜字罐雖然屬于民窯的東西，但能完整保存至今其實也是不容易的，值得收藏。
