耀州窯在今陜西省銅川市的黃堡鎮(zhèn)，唐宋時代屬耀州治，故名耀州窯。該窯唐代開始燒陶瓷，經(jīng)五代、宋、金、元幾朝。早期（唐代）時主要燒制黑釉、白釉、青釉、茶葉末釉和白釉綠彩、褐彩、黑彩以及三彩陶器等。五代時大量燒制黑釉器，亦有少量精美的白胎青釉瓷器，也就是目前備受矚目的“準(zhǔn)柴窯器”。中期（宋、金）以燒青釉瓷為主。北宋是耀州窯的鼎盛時期，據(jù)記載且為朝廷燒造“貢瓷”。后期（金、元）開始衰落，終于清代。
