玉璧，是中國古代玉器中最為常見且流傳最為久遠的器類之一。其存在幾乎貫穿整個古代玉器制作史，在近七千年的漫長歲月之中，玉璧見證了中國古代社會政治、經濟、文化的演進。早在距今6000多年前的新石器時代良渚文化遺存中就有數量較多且制作較為精美的玉璧發現，其后綿延發展于殷商、兩周直至政治統一、經濟發展、玉文化繁榮的兩漢達到鼎盛。

沁色是指玉器在環境中長期與水，土壤以及其他物質相接觸，自然產生的水或礦物質風化侵蝕玉體，鐵，錳等氧化物緩慢地侵入玉器使其部分或整體顏色發生變化的自然現象，色質是玉的自然屬性，色即沁色，質指玉質，而沁色通常會成為一塊古玉的重要鑒定標準。

此玉璧質料極佳，線條優美。包漿溫潤。手感油潤,沁色很漂亮,玉質晶瑩。器形較大，兩面紋飾相同，紋飾以綯紋為界，中間為渦紋帶，渦紋帶兩端為夔龍紋帶。內外郭窄素，造型極其罕見。
