北宋徽宗趙佶崇寧年間(1102-1100年)始鑄，年號(hào)錢(qián)。有 崇寧通寶、崇寧重寶和崇寧元寶三種。 崇寧通寶當(dāng)十型，錢(qián)文為徽宗親書(shū)，所以又其為御書(shū)錢(qián)。宋徽宗貴為一國(guó)君王,治國(guó)雖無(wú)方, 但他在書(shū)法上卻獨(dú)辟蹊徑,自創(chuàng)“瘦金書(shū)” ,為一代書(shū)法宗主.并將此書(shū)體文字鑄于錢(qián) 上.''崇寧通寶''及是活例.宋徽宗更因鑄錢(qián)精絕,而于王莽并稱(chēng)“錢(qián)法二圣”。
