王鐸（1592--1652）字覺斯，一字覺之。號十樵，孟津（今河南孟津）人。鐸博學好古，工詩文。尤其以書法獨具特色，行草宗二王，正書師鐘繇，亦多自出胸臆，世稱“神筆王鐸”。他的書法與董其昌齊名，明末有“南董北王”之稱， 他書法用筆，出規入矩，張弛有度，卻充滿流轉自如，力道千鈞的力量。王鐸擅長行草，筆法大氣，勁健灑脫，淋漓痛快，戴明皋在《王鐸草書詩卷跋》中說：“元章（米芾）狂草尤講法，覺斯則全講勢，魏晉之風軌掃地矣，然風檣陣馬，殊快人意，魄力之大，非趙、董輩所能及也。”
