關(guān)于此錢(qián)，有一個(gè)傳說(shuō)，謂其面文為蔡京所書(shū)，而蔡京書(shū)寫(xiě)時(shí)別有用心地將“崇”字的山和宗的豎筆上下貫通，連成一線(xiàn)；將“寧”字繁體之中的“心”省略，被人指責(zé)為“有意破宋，無(wú)心寧國(guó)”。“崇寧”錢(qián)存世尚多，版別亦多，但迄今并未發(fā)現(xiàn)有如上所說(shuō)這種寫(xiě)法的錢(qián)幣。自然也有根據(jù)以上說(shuō)法造假的，但那很容易辨別出來(lái)。因此這段傳說(shuō)得不到印證，至今仍是一個(gè)謎。
