Ancient coins have always been a hot spot in the collection market. Although most of the ancient coins have long lost circulation value with the passage of history, they have entered the collection market, adding more art, appreciation and collection value. Among the many varieties of ancient coins, Guangxu Yuanbao is currently a favorite of many investors.
As the main currency in circulation at the end of the Qing Dynasty, many versions of Guangxu yuanbao were issued. Some provincial silver dollars with a short issuance time and small circulation are particularly precious. Among them, the Guangxu yuanbao "made in Zhejiang Province" is one. At that time, Zhejiang Province was one of the main tax sources of the Qing government and the main coastal area where foreign trade and economic development required a large amount of trade silver dollars. However, Zhejiang Province itself did not have advanced mechanical currency casting capabilities, and had no choice but to entrust it elsewhere. Because the Qing government took back the rights of coinage from various places and returned it to the central government for unified casting, the "Zhejiang-made" Guangxu Ingot is very rare and has attracted the attention of coin collectors. Zhejiang is located on the coast, and foreign silver was used very early. Although factories had been set up to mint coins in the Qing Dynasty, large-scale production of silver dollars was a matter after the Republic of China. Due to the late preparations, the Zhejiang Bureau was ordered to suspend work after the start of casting in the 25th year of Guangxu, and the machine was demolished elsewhere. During the operation, the amount of silver coins was not large. Due to the serious shortage of money at that time, the production of copper yuan was more profitable and there were plenty of silver coins. Yingyang was available but was left out or even shelved.
This piece of Guangxu Yuanbao made in Zhejiang Province is ten, with a diameter of 2.7cm. The Chinese characters "Guangxu Yuanbao" are cast in the bead ring on the front of the coin, and the center is a six-petal hollow plum blossom. The left and right sides are cast in Manchu characters. On the back, the center cast dragon and fire dragon ball are cast in English.
Ancient coins have great ornamental and historical value, so ancient coins are favored by collectors like other antiques. The earliest machine-made Western silver dollar in China was the "Guangxu Yuanbao" during the Guangxu period, commonly known as "Longyang", named after the dragon pattern cast on the back of the silver dollar. Rare and ancient coins are real objects of currency history. Since they are no longer in circulation, very few remain, and they are historical witnesses. This Guangxu ingot made in Zhejiang Province is perfectly preserved and rare. Its copper color is excellent. The Guangxu Ingot is very sophisticated and has distinctive features. It is the best choice for ancient coin collectors.
