王西京，是源自西安的長安畫派代表人物。他于1946年生于西安，1966年畢業于西安美術學院附屬中學，算是早年就受過美術熏陶，如果不是之后的動蕩年代，肯定是會和現在的年輕人一樣去藝術高校深造的。

改革開放后，1983年，西安美術家協會成立，王西京任主席。1985年，西安中國畫院成立，王西京任院長。1989年，“西安對外文化交流協會成立”，王西京任副會長。他還兼任中國藝術研究院教授、西北大學、云南大學教授，一級美術師，1992年被國務院授予為“有突出貢獻” 。

王西京老師曾在國內外報刊、雜志發表作品5000余幅，先后出版了《王西京畫集》、《王西京作品集》、《王西京歷史人物畫輯》、《中國線描人物畫技法研究》、《　王西京藝術研究文集》等作品60余種,作品入編《中國藝術家詞典》、《中國當代書畫家詞典》、《中國藝術家辭林》等。

從藝術上來說，王西京的畫作大膽地借鑒西方繪畫技法，但又保持了中國傳統文化的精髓，工筆重彩技巧功力深厚，用筆精湛、細膩、瀟灑、流暢，色彩典雅、清新，仕女造型優美，人物清秀、端莊雍容，形象生動，神態、衣冠等準確嚴謹。

不但富有藝術才能，王西京通過創立令世人矚目的西安中國畫院，進一步擴大了影響力。他帶著自己的畫作走向新加坡、馬來西亞、泰國、日本、韓國、歐洲、加拿大、美國以及香港、臺灣等地區，受到廣泛贊譽，并被新加坡南洋美術學院、馬來西亞藝術學院、泰國東方書院聘為客座教授，擁有不俗的國際影響力。

近幾年來，王西京老師的字畫價格一直在上升。作為一名有著優秀藝術造詣的當代書畫家，王西京的書畫作品在藏市中顯現出強勁的升值走向。

Wang Xijing is a representative of the Chang'an School of Painting from Xi'an. He was born in Xi'an in 1946 and graduated from the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1966. Teacher Wang Xijing has published more than 5,000 works in newspapers and magazines at home and abroad, and successively published "Wang Xijing Painting Collection", "Wang Xijing Collection", "Wang Xijing Historical Figure Painting Collection", "Chinese Line Drawing Figure Painting Technique Research", "Wang Xijing Art There are more than 60 kinds of works such as "Research Collection", and the works are compiled into "Chinese Artist Dictionary", "Chinese Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Dictionary", "Chinese Artist Cilin" and so on.

From an artistic point of view, Wang Xijing’s paintings boldly borrow Western painting techniques, but still maintain the essence of Chinese traditional culture. They have profound skills in heavy brushwork, exquisite, unrestrained, and smooth use of brushwork, elegant and fresh colors, and beautiful ladies’ shapes. The characters are delicate, dignified and graceful, vivid in image, and precise and rigorous in appearance and clothing.

Not only is he rich in artistic talent, but Wang Xijing has further expanded his influence by establishing the Xi'an Chinese Painting Academy that has attracted worldwide attention. He took his paintings to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Europe, Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other regions. He was widely praised and was hired as a guest by the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, the Malaysian Academy of Art, and the Oriental Academy of Thailand.
