Yuan Datou was one of the main currencies in circulation during the Republic of China. "Yuan Datou" is the colloquial term for the series of silver coins with Yuan Shikai's portrait. Strictly speaking, it is called "Yuan Shikai's portrait on the back of the Golden Harvest Silver Coin". In the third year of the Republic of China, 1914, the Beiyang warlord government officially minted a silver coin with the head of Yuan Shikai. First, the Yuan Datou one-yuan silver coin was minted at the Tianjin Mint; then successively minted at the Mints such as Wuchang, Nanjing, Guangdong. During the period of the Republic of China, the warlords fought in a melee.
Yuan Datou is known as the treasure of silver dollars in the currency collection circle. It is the most widely spread and most influential silver dollar variety among nearly a thousand modern silver coins in China; Yuan Datou silver coins include four types: one yuan, five yuan, two corners, and one corner ; There were castings in the 3rd, 8th, 9th and 10th years of the Republic of China.
Among them, one yuan in the three years, nine years, and ten years of the Republic of China is more common. The five-yen silver coin actually did not actually flow through the market. The reason why it was not issued was because the value of the currency did not meet the price at the time, so it did not pass the government review. One hundred trial coins were sealed. People who don't know this allusion naturally don't know that there is a "Yuan Datou" of "Wu Yuan". Then Yuan Shikai's government collapsed, and it became the people.
Due to the scarce output of trial coins, coupled with the fact that they are out of print and not many preserved intact, the historical value of trial coins is very high. As the saying goes, the rare thing is expensive. This must be greatly sought after by many coin collectors and is definitely worth it. The treasured objects are extremely precious due to their scarcity and history.
