1935年國民黨政府實行法幣政策后，曾發行伍分、拾分、二十分和半圓鎳幣，民國時期的鎳質輔幣不僅在1935年后作為“法幣”的輔幣流通于市面，而且直到1948年8月19日，國民黨政府發行“金圓券”以后，又作為金圓券的輔幣流通。鎳幣是幣制改革的產物，以鎳替代貴金屬銀，在阻止西方列強掠奪中國白銀方面起到重要作用。 本組孫小頭中華民國二十五年鎳幣，重：4.5g/3.0g 直徑：21.11mm/18.59mm 厚：1.68mm/1.48mm，厚片型，存世極為罕見，極為珍貴，底版為鏡面，完全未使用品。正面中央為孫中山側面肖像，邊緣內上鐫中文書“中華民國二十五年”八字、背面中央為布幣圖案字樣。此組銀元散發出一股王者的風范和歷史沉淀的氣息，具有非常高的收藏價值。
