光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。由湖北兩廣總督張之洞率先引進英國鑄幣機器鑄造銀元和銅元，之后各省紛紛仿效。共有十九個省局鑄造，除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元，皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。 光緒元寶是大清光緒年流通大面值貨幣之首，是我國首批引進海外技術的印發流通貨幣，對于現今也蘊藏了一定歷史意義。

此枚云南省造光緒元寶庫平三錢六分錢幣，品相完整，包漿自然。正面以珠圈為界，可分為內外兩個部分，錢幣珠圈內鑄“光緒元寶”四字，上環“云南省造”四字，下環“庫平三錢六分”，左右兩端飾有七點星花，字體端莊清秀，筆畫圓潤飽滿；錢幣背面是蟠龍圖，紋路如刀刻所成，龍身紋路精美。
